Vendor Information

Tool Description:

The Award BIOS is a fully featured family of BIOS supporting the Intel386™ DX, Intel486™ SX, IntelDX2™ and the IntelDX4™ processors. The BIOS allows for extensions to be added to the core BIOS without making changes to the core itself. Each extension can intercept key core BIOS activities or allocate the resources necessary to function. Extensions can install their own POST routine and perform their own power-on initialization tasks. An extension can also provide new interrupt services routines such as found in INT 15h or INT 1Ah. Finally, an extension can provide services to other extensions. This results in a BIOS that maintains its core compatibility while providing configurability to a vast array of PC hardware options.
